Where the folks at VCDQ.com get their video material from...

The main method described in this thread has been working for months now and it still does. It exploits a security hole on Amazon's website such that everybody (from any country) can download their Amazon Instant Videos (AIV's) in full length + in the highest possible bitrate (incl. HD, when HD option is available) without registering, ordering, subscribing, logging in or similar. just like that. FOR FREE. a true security hole. after publicizing, here on SRF, the details of the method i am sure that amazon will work fast and hard to fix the hole .. but till then let's have the party and enjoy it as long as it lasts. And how do SRF or the SRF community or i benefit from revealing the secret -- why do i tell at all, shouldn't i keep my mouth shut?
Well.. this is going to be some major publicity for SRF, the software products we use, and it is sheer fun pointing at those big companies (amazon, Kelby, Adobe, Microsoft, Hulu, Sony, etc.) and ridicule them. And it will teach you (the SRF community) quite a bit about the value of ..

To complicate things for the general public, the main info with all the instruction details and screenshots is provided in form of a *.ZIP-archive download link (uploaded on a file hoster).

The discovery of the AIV security hole is the most intriguing SRF subject to happen this year and it no doubt beats the popularity and excitement of the other long-term Top5 SRF video recording topics Hulu, Channel4 / iTV, BBC iPlayer, iView (ABC Australia), YouTube.

Depending on various factors, it may be conceivable to disclose the details more openly (i.e. no ZIP-archive) or, by voting/discussion, delete the details from this thread .. to protect the method for continued operation.

The only RTMP Flash stream recorder that was able to record RTMPE encrypted protocol for me was Replay Media Catcher. Sorry, but I can't suggest you any freeware program that can record RTMPE protocol.

This doesn't seem to work anymore. Is there any chance to record Amazon VOD besides screen video capture software?

Amazon was quick to update their streams. As of now, I know the developer from Media Catcher is working on a fix, but I don't know anything beyond that.

Try WM Capture. It's recommend by Applian, and I've tried it too. It records videos as they play, and the quality is brilliant. And it will never be blocked like they did with Replay Media Catcher .

Great suggestion, I was about to come back here and make the suggestion of WM Capture but you beat me to it, thanks, and Stream Ripper approves the above recomendation. ;-)

How can I download Amazon Video on Demand (VOD) video streams with freeware rtmpdump? They seem to use Adobe Flash Player and RTMPE protocol.

Capture Amazon VOD Streams?

Are there any tools out there that can capture Amazon VOD streams? They appear to be moving away from Unbox downloads to RTMPE Flash video streams but I'm unable to find an application that properly understands the handshake.

Recording RTMPE streams from Amazon Video On Demand

Some of the Amazon Video on Demand TV Shows have Full Previews which makes it easier for programs like GetFLV & StreamTransport. But for the ones with no Previews but I know for a fact that Amazon uses RTMPE would there be any way to find the RTMPE links without using said programs ?
