Re: Is Shipito.com a scam, fraud or a legit service?

My one and only experience was not pleasant. Most likely I will not use them again. My experience was with the Oregon location.

Wanted to ship an item "first class international" by USPS. This option was not allowed because supposedly the value limit is $150. I checked the USPS web site and it said the limit was $400 which would have allowed me to ship. Sent an email to ShitIto asking about the difference. Response was if the shipping option is not listed, then you cannot use that option. Basically did not answer the question.

That left Priority Mail and Express Mail which are much more expensive. Again checked the shipping costs for both options quoted by ShipIto against the USPS web site and ShipIto rates were roughly $10 higher for each of the two shipping options. I did not send an email asking about the difference. By this time I just wanted to get my package. I was concerned that since they had my package they could cause problems for me if I complained too much.

The company I bought the item from would have sent it straight to me by UPS for about $53. Often items sent through the USPS are not charged import tax, so thought I might save there. Also wanted to try out ShipIto for the first time. The rates ShipIto was quoting for UPS was around $75 and insurance extra.

The biggest problem I have is that they claim to be charging the same rates as the USPS under the same guidelines and I find that not to be true in my case. I was hoping I was mistaken in some way about the value guide lines, but they refused to answer. If they are quoting USPS rates that are in error, you have to wonder about the rest of their business. Next time you ship check their rates against the USPS web site. I did and was surprised.

It is a good idea to use freight forwarders when you want consolidate packages. Otherwise in many cases it makes sense to ship directly when shops can do that.

USPS services are about 10% more expensive in Oregon than in California. But Oregon doesn't have any sales tax. If you compare USPS prices in California and on the USPS web-site, you shouldn't see any price difference.

I have never used the First Class Mail, but Shipito announced adding Airmail Express to its Oregon warehouse for many countries in the world. You may see how expensive all the shipping options for you including USPS, Airmail Express, Airmail Economy and Airmail Priority using Shipito calculator before shipping anything.

I worked at Shipito (before starting my own company) so hopefully my experience on the other side can help explain some things.

First, when I worked at Shipito, USPS First Class was not an option for packages as it is now. I would put money on it that the reason for the lower limit ($150) is likely due an API (application program interface) issue. Which would also be why the employees would have no idea how to answer your question. There is a wide range of allowable values that can be shipped by USPS First Class to different countries, $150 is probably the lowest allowable value. The APIs they use to calculate rates and generate postage likely do not take into account these value limits and would have generated postage regardless of the value. So, to prevent packages with too much value to be shipped, they set an internal threshold level at the lowest maximum value instead of setting separate thresholds for each country.

Second, the difference in price form Shipito to USPS for the exact same postage is likely due to them adding in their bank fees. If you look at their shipping calculator now, you will see a little note at the bottom that indicates that the price is increased by 4.3% (the bank fee - covers the credit card/paypal processing fee). This will explain why Shipito costs more than the USPS.

You will find (although you may never know it) that just about every single international package forwarder will increase the postage slightly (or a lot) over their discounts to cover processing fees or to increase their profits. At VykingShip our USPS rates are a little over what that USPS costs and right around Shipito's rates - often times cheaper than Shipito's rates if you factor in insurance. Forwarding companies don't wan to lose money, so you are going to end up paying for the processing fees with every package forwarder one way or another and lumped into the postage is the most likely place.

Where you find the largest postage hikes is with the "everything free" forwarders; those who do not charge you for any service (repackaging, consolidating, customs declaration completion, etc). With many of them you may find a 50-150% increase in postage over what they purchase it for from the carrier. Make sure to check rates before you use any package forwarder to avoid any companies that hike the postage by ridiculous amounts.

Is Shipito.com a scam, fraud or a legit service?

Shipito is a legit service. I have used it multiple price. The only complaint is that it is not the least inexpensive one.

Re: Is Shipito.com a scam, fraud or a legit service?

I think it is a real service but pretty bad one. I once bought a laptop using their service but didn't receive the right product, instead they sent me some other laptop. I paid for dell and received an unknown company's laptop.

I have tried using viabox and I think it is better than shipito, they are cheaper and faster.

Re: Is Shipito.com a scam, fraud or a legit service?

If people are naif enough to trust them at first yes!!! but believe me they might lose all their clients soon!! They are criminals.

Shipito STOLE a package of mine worth 700 dollars plus all i payed for shipping!
After 3 months (now it's 5!!!) they simply could not give me an answer about what happened to my item!! They had the paypal invoice of what i payed for it (700 dollars they even photographed it for me!!!) shipping was also insured. After "reimbursing" me for 20 ridiculous dollars into THEIR account, they made my shipito account INACTIVE saying i am "fraudulent". This company is a SCAM, i am a serious musician who buy gear online since 2004 and this never happened to me!!! Every private seller on ebay who shipped directly to me had his item normally delivered! Shipito STOLE it finding excuses for 3 months and when i started to get really pissed they simply closed my account to get rid of the problem!
SHIPITO IS A SCAM! Please people let's be united to sue them and have our money back!!!

Scammers with more than 100 thousands clients? Really? Can you prove that you're a client of theirs by posting a screenshot of your package, your monthly spending limit and your current verification status?

They have a monthly spending limit. But it is very easy to provide 2 IDs and a utility bill to increase the limit significantly. The notarized 1583 form will increase it even more. And you can also do a wire transfer to fill in your account, then you will be able to spend thousands of dollars.

Even if you don't want to use Shipito anymore, you can send your package to any other parcel forwarder (package forwarding company, shipping forwarder, freight forwarding service). Shipping within the US will be much less then 220 USD. Or you can trash your package for free and get a refund (by check, paypal, wire transfer).

Well, it's not a scam but it's definitely not the cheapest shipping service out there. Have you tried viabox? I really recommend doing so. They offer the cheapest shipping rate and I've never had any problems with them.

I use Viabox and it is the best. Low shipping costs and you have 180 days free storage if you do not pick your items in time.

saya sarankan coba menggunakan freight forwarder lain seperti Viabox. saya sudah menggunakan Viabox dan sejauh ini saya puas. selain harga yang murah, proses pengirimannya juga cepat yaitu 1 hari.
