how to remove DRM from AOL in2tv files

television.aol.com/in2tv is the site if you somehow if not heard of it.

I had my friend get the streaming url to an episode of hanging with mr cooper because I use windows 2000. Anyway, he got it, I got the episode. I go to strip the drm like did with mtv overdrive and such and aol states it must be played in the AOL Video Player when it goes to acquire the license. It seems AOL has somehow made it virtually impossible to remove the drm or play it on any OS besides XP with WMP10 and in an IE window or firefox with activex plugin. Does anyone have any idea how could solve this?

Please, please help I beg of you. There are so many shows I would want to see on there.

Re: how to remove DRM from AOL in2tv files

I'm unable to use FairUse4WM on the In2TV files. The problem seems to be that it expects the files to be playable in WMP, but they're not - they play fine in AOL's own Hi-Q video player, but attempting to play them in WMP gives an error message: "We apologize, but we've encountered a problem authorizing your computer to play this asset. Please try again, and if problems persist please visit AOL Customer Support for further assistance."

It worked like this:

1. Download the file from AOL in2tv

2. Play it once within AOL Video Player to obtain/download/transfer the license to your IndivBox.key

3. Once you have a license in your system, you can replay the media file with WMP or do remove DRM from it.

It worked with an old AOL's Video Player (but the player was patched sometime in August). You may try to use the old player.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm trying to get the Dick Van Dyke shows from aol video, it's says they're FREE. I want to move them to my laptop which has no net connection. When I try to play them in WMP directly I get "acquiring liscence" then that stupid AOL popup you get or one that says "windows media player has encoutered an error" or a simple "Unknown error has occured"

If I play it in Hi-q, it works perfectly. WTF.

What is it supposed to do? I got it and tried to play the drm'ed file that works FINE in hi-q every time, on winamp. Got the same warning about needing to find a liscence, I click ok, and it pops up that same aol window saying It couldn't allow me to play the asset.

Am I doing something wrong? How else would you use Winamp for this issue?
