How to record Video Games on a PC

Hello !

I've been looking for a video game recorder software that can capture game plays from screen. I need to create "movies" (i.e. video with audio). I would like to make an HD video and upload it to YouTube and other HD video sharing services.

I can record online Flash games, DOS games and some other simple games using screencasting software, but I can't record any video from games using DirectX 3D and OpenGL. All screen recorders just create a black rectangle instead of the video.

Are there any screen recording programs that can record my game plays? Or do I need a capture card or something else?
