How do you you capture (record) the stream from NBC Olympics websiteNBC Olympics has their "Live Extra" streaming of the 2012 Olympics.
Every single event is streamed live, and then archived on demand to watch on their website. The website is: www.NBCOlympics.com. I can't seem to record the stream. I have tried Replay Media Catcher. I am not interested in doing a "screen capture" from my desktop. I want to capture, I mean catch and record the streaming link. Normally Replay Media Catcher can record anything from Youtube. NBCOlympics.com is indeed using the Youtube platform for their streaming. However, it's not working like it usually does on Youtube.com. It won't detect the stream at all. You can watch 720p or even 1080p of these events on the NBC Olympics website. I want to be able to record some of it. Please help. Nothing is working. And again, I'm not interested in a desktop screen capture program. I want to record the actual stream, without having to use any desktop screen capture programs. Normally, Replay Media Catcher is supposed to work. Any other suggestions? |

Re: How do you you capture (record) the stream from NBC Olympics websiteThe reason you can't capture the NBC live stream or replays is because it isn't a rtmp stream. It's I believe MPEG-TS (MPEG transport stream) that downloads a live or replay stream in segments of small files. In NBC's case - IPTV. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG_transport_stream
Here's an example of one those segments I got from NBC through Opera Dragonfly (Developer Tools): Response HTTP/1.1 302 Found Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2012 16:34:33 GMT Pragma: no-cache Expires: Fri, 01 Jan 1990 00:00:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate Location: http://r4---lax02s05.c.youtube.com/v...es&file=seg.ts Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Server: ClientMapServer Content-Length: 817 X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN This segment is about 637KB. Segments vary in size and aren't necessarily sequential. I hope that answers your questions! |
