![]() Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place (staticHello, I am in the same train, but got a problem that is giving me a headache, I'm connected to the internet using a 3G PCMCIA card, and my provider is not giving me a public IP address, what I see as my IP over the internet is different than the IP I see in my computer for example using IPCONFIG, I tried connecting to a dyndns and also using a VPN with no luck, is there a way around this? how can I get an IP that will direct me inside my computer not having a public IP address?
thanks very much |

![]() Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place (staticLet me revisit this problem I have been trying to solve for months. I have the DVR set up and can see it remotely through a Static IP address on the computer that is in the office. This computer is connected directly to the router box and then to the DVR. What I cannot do, is connect to the DVR from any other computer at home. I have tried setting up a VPN, but was wondering if being on dial up service is the problem (Cannot find DVR). I will be getting 768 speed DSL in two day and will try again to recognize the static IP, but still don't understand the concept. The DVR software says that only two remote computers can connect at the same time. Why only two and is the DVR already one of them?

![]() Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place (staticYou should set up the router to forward packets from the chosen port to your DVR. Then you type the IP address of the router with the forwarded port to see the DVR from a remote location. See the first post of this thread for the detailed instructions.

![]() Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote placeA simple way of doing it for private/home use is to download "Teamviewer" and use the free version to access your home pc remotely then use the local network address.

![]() Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place (staticWhen I bought a DVR the software they gave me had all of the information on how to setup a static IP address. I bought this DVR:
"http://www.asianwolf.com/cctv-dvr-w4dvr.html" If I ever had trouble understanding the manual I went here: "http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm" Hope this helps! |
