"Awaiting connection" problem when recording from BBC radio 4 with WM Recorder

Very often, nearly always, when recording streaming video the stream time indicates that the program has been succesfully downloaded but recording will not complete leaving the "awaiting connection" warning blinking in the WM Recorder Recording Window.
Why? and how can I get WM Recorder to complete the recording.

Re: Awaiting connection

Can you please provide me with the URL of the audio or video you're trying to record, so I can trouble shoot the issue?

Re: Awaiting connection

Hi

You might want to download our LATEST upgrate to WMR 14.6 which records from bbc B-E-A-UTIFULLY!

If you already have 14.6, then don't worry about that - and please proceed to the below instructions.

You need to run WM Recorder with the Preview mode enable. Click OPTIONS / Flash RTMP download options and then Enable preview recording. Also make sure you have the High speed download checked in this pop-up.

There is more to the real time preview. Watch their marketing director Leslie's demonstration of BBC 2 hour radio show recorded in about 4 minutes:

(Video Showing how to Record BBC ) and how you can use this real preview. WMR is the only recorder that can do this.

The real time preview however has a drawback - in some cases it loads up the CPU (just as the Adobe Flash player). If you have a number of shows downloaded simultaneously at max connection speed (10 for example) it is better to disable the real time preview which could generate downloading errors in this case. These errors cannot be handled by the converter. If you have complains about conversion problems of FLV files recorded with WM Recorder ask the user to disable the real time preview.

Let me know how it goes! :-)

Best Regards,

Re: Awaiting connection

Thank you. I have downloaded version 14.6. I can not say I notice a change.
For those files that have finnished downloading, and I can tell they have finnished because the stream time and received have stopped.
But the status is showing Connecting ... (awaiting connection).

For the unfinnished files, status shows either connecting (awaiting connection) or Reconnect.

WM Recorder 14.7 downloading a 3-hour radio show from BBC in just 2 minutes

In this video WM Recorder 14.7 downloads BBC radio at an amazing speed. Haven't seen any reliable BBC recorders yet that can do the same at this speed.

Good to know that WMR works fine with RTMP streams now!

Re: "Awaiting connection" problem when recording from BBC radio 4 with WM Recorder

I couldn´t agree more. There is no other software I know that works as well as WM for radio and sound streaming.
I have been successful in downloading video from the BBC Iplayer but although downloading begins, sometimes after a couple of attempts, it does not fully download the program. Probably a DRM issue. I have been able, a while ago, a few times to complete a video download of a program which then with WM had no DRM issues. Wonderful. Not lately however. If you resolve that..... well now!

BBC uses RTMPE streams for their videos. WM Recorder doesn't support them because of actions from Adobe.

Are the "actions from Adobe" surmountable?. What are they?.
Great pity.

There were several program that supported RTMPE, but not anymore. There are some freeware software and a commercial program that is sold from China, but there are no U.S. or European software developers that sell RTMPE recorders.
