Re: yadda yadda tube recorder (Capturing/saving/recording/downloading youtube videos)

I'm happy to hear that a fix will be along, and now that I know what the problem was I'll look for youtube in the url before I download any more video's. Aside from that glitch, I think the recorder is quite nice, and I was really surprised at the speed of the copying as it was completed long before the video even finished playing! RMC will certainly hold a prominent spot in my newly resurrected 'audio video tools' file. Once again, thanks very much for your help. Will E

Re: yadda yadda tube recorder (Capturing/saving/recording/downloading youtube videos)

Hi again. Somehow in the shuffle I forgot to mention the reason I wanted that video in the first place. Although am interested in a video recorder, in this particular case what I really wanted was the 'audio' from that particular video. My intention was to first get the video, then extract the audio from it. Although I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do that, I figured I'd take it one step at a time. Anyway, do you guys know of something I could do to just get the 'audio' portion of that video? Tks again, Will E

Hi again, I looked at the link you posted about making an MP3 from an FLV, but the problem I would have with that goes back to the 75% issue, because the video I want doesn't have 'youtube' in the url. If I did that, I'd still only have 75% of the audio, right? What I was wondering was, perhaps there might be a tool, other than RMC, that would record '100%' of the 'audio', forgetting the video section entirely. Putting it another way, is there an 'audio' recorder, one that can lift just the 'audio' section of a streaming video, and would of course, record the audio in it's entirety. Thanks again, Will E

The above mentioned thread offers several ways to extract MP3 from recorded FLV files. This is the best way, because you don't lose any quality.

You can also use online services like vixy.net that will convert youtube videos to MP3 files.

And you can always use direct sound recording software to record any audio from your sound card.
