Re: www.rubbereva.com - How to download/capture/record f4v files

The F4V format is based on the ISO MP4 format, which in turn is based on the Apple QuickTime container format. I haven't found any information about DRM protection in f4v files.

rubbereva.com started supporting Windows Media Player and Real Player only. This should be an indication good enough showing that f4v files (if they use them) have no any DRM protection. Otherwise they wouldn't probably switch to Windows Media thus stopping supporting Mac OS users.

Why do you think think that f4v files on rubbereva.com are DRM protected?

Re: www.rubbereva.com - How to download/capture/record f4v files

If you need to enter a user id and password on a web-site, it doesn't necessarily mean that DRM is used.

Do you download f4v files to your computer and need to enter your ID and password when trying to play them?

Or do they use streaming videos instead? Have you tried to download/capture f4v video streams with Replay Media Catcher, Jaksta, WM Recorder or freeware programs like Grab Pro, CooJah + Blader, TubeMaster++, xVST?

What else does it mean when I have to enter User-ID and password after the download of the videofiles?

The files were downloaded direct from the HP and stored locally on a harddrive... if you try to watch them offline you need to enter the relevant data...

what kind of software can do screen capturing and sound recording of protected f4v files at the same time...

best regards

If you need to enter ID/password after trying to play downloaded files, then it is indeed DRM.

Most screen capture programs can record video with audio. If you don't have a Stereo Mix / Wave-Out Mix / What U Hear (especially in Windows Vista, Windows 7 or if your sound card doesn't allow to play and record sound at the same time), then you can still record video with sound using software like Replay Video Capture or WM Capture
