As always M$ doesn't seem to care about its clients. Tried to upgrade Windows Vista, but got the following error
error trust_e_nosignature (0x800b0100)
Although the error code is known, the update suggested to read about 10 topics, and the one with this error code was not even in the first 3 mentioned topics.
The M$ web-site suggests to remove all security software. I removed my antivirus and firewall and it didn't help. Then I removed most of the software installed and disabled other from starting at boot. It didn't help either.
Then I tried to boot in the Safe mode, but that didn't help to install the upgrade again.
My log %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log didn't help me much:

M$ web-site doesn't offer KB976767 or KB976771 for download.
support.microsoft.com/kb/976767 and support.microsoft.com/kb/KB976771 contain just list of files, like that could possibly help.
KB976767 or KB976771 are related to .NET Framework 3.5. Will removing .NET framework or re-installing it help? No!
Can you download windows6.0-kb976767-x86.cab and windows6.0-kb976771-x86.cab from M$ web-site? No!
Re-installing Windows Vista or doing an in-place upgrade? Is it a real solution? Nothing better has come up for more than 8 months? Is it a way of forcing to upgrade to Windows 7???
