Windows Media Services - Re-streaming/relaying audio streams from web radio stations

Hi @ all.

I?m looking for a solution to configure the windows media services to redirect or stream a online radio station directly to the intranet/lan.

I want to use windows media services as a single point of streming - server.

Is it possible to configure the media services that it redirects any online radio stream to the local lan?
I want to give the employees the ability to hear different radio station without directly connecting to the internet. they should use only the url of the media server to hear something.

Maybe ther is a other way or software to get a solution ?

Thank you very much.
Regards.

Re: Windows Media Services - Re-streaming/relaying audio streams from web radio stati

I don't really know how to re-broadcast / re-stream web radio stations with Windows Media Services.

If you wanna re-broadcast / re-stream Shoutcast radio stations, you can use a Relay feature of Shoutcast stream rippers.

If I'm not mistaken VLC player can re-stream/re-broadcast to a single host only.

You may try Streaming media proxy and caching solutions, but they seem to be pretty expensive.
