Windows 7 DVD drive problem: Windows doesn't see my DVD drive (exclamation on driver)
How to show a DVD drive if Windows 7 doesn't see it- Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run.
- Type regedit, and click OK.
If you are prompted for an administrator password type the password. If you are promted for a confirmation, click Allow. - In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry key:

- In the right pane, click "UpperFilters". You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry, but you don't have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only.
If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 7. - In the Edit menu, click Delete.
- When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
- In the right pane, click "LowerFilters".
- In the Edit menu, click Delete.
- When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
- Exit Registry Editor.
- Restart the computer.
If you don't find the UpperFilter or LowerFilter in your registry this method may not be applicable to your computer.
