videocacheview flv capture problem: how to capture flv from halfway from megavideo

I use 'videocacheview' to capture video from cache directly. But sites like megavideo does not allow to stream videos more than 72 mins. then if i start streaming from halfway the captured flv can not be played. how to capture flv from halfway?

Web-sites like megavideo use HTTP flash video streams. Have you tried to download them with any download manager (like freeware Orbit Downloader or shareware NetXFer)?

Re: videocacheview flv capture problem: how to capture flv from halfway from megavide

This is the exact problem that I'm having right now. I want a clips of a movie to add to a fan vid that I am planning on making. The problem is that the only streaming video of the movie is on megavideo. I've tried using flv capture programs but it will only capture 72 minutes of the movie. The movie is about 90 minutes so that's 18 minutes of footage that I'm missing out on, and those minutes contain a lot of the footage that I want to use. I also tried recording from the last 18 minutes but it doesn't play began after it is downlaoded.

I've even tried taking the mega video link to a site that bypasses the time limit, but then my recorder can't read the sites player.

I guess there are no real answers on this website, as I have never been actually helped on here. Just people giving a ton of links to stuff that doesn't even work or stuff that you don't need. This is really one of the most useless forums I've seen. I don't mean to bash the moderator, but, come on, give us a little more help.

Re: videocacheview flv capture problem: how to capture flv from halfway from megavide

I think i have partial answer to this problem
Partial as it worked for some videos and didnt work for some.I am still trying to find the cause.

I dont think it is very secret technique, what i do is
Start recording using Replay Media Catcher
start the video
and then click on the desired time in timeline
the another file starts recording
and delete or stop the original recording in media catcher

but for such middle part captured videos...
some are normal but most have audio only(vlc) and classic media player says codec error(i think this may be solved)

so,this is what i do ....
may be u can give a try
