Using 'seek' to only download a portion of a file.Is it even possible to seek to a specific point of an FLV/M4A file and begin your download there? For example, say you wanted only the last 2 minutes of a YouTube clip, rather than the entire 10-minute file.
Lots of websites provide the ability to jump to a specific point in a movie or show via a little screencap of that particular timeframe, but how would you accomplish jumping to that point with any of the tools available like rtmpdump? I just assumed it was as simple as passing along a certain variable in the address, but evidently not? Any help is appreciated! |

Re: Using 'seek' to only download a portion of a file. You can use screen recorders to record any part(s) of the video that you want. Such programs record from screen, so you will lose some quality.
Alternatively you can download or capture the whole video and then split it. |
