Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloaders

Federal Budget:

Government funds iview live streaming pilot
- $30 million in funding for ABC online services
TechWorld staff (Techworld Australia) - 15 May, 2013
(read online)

The federal government's 2013-14 budget includes $30 million for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's online services, including its popular iview streaming platform.

The funding is intended to help maintain and expand the ABC's online content services, including a pilot for live streaming of ABC TV and radio.

"The funding will better equip the ABC to provide the mobile and online content that audiences are demanding in ever-increasing numbers," ABC’s managing director Mark Scott said.

The ABC's iview streaming service launched in 2008. The broadcaster launched an app for Apple's iPad in 2010 and for the iPhone in 2012. The ABC said an Android iview app in development [1] in October last year. The iview app is one of the 10 most popular iOS apps in Australia.

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloaders

I wish to download a live program that was streamed live last night on ABC News 24 "Community Cabinet"? I can't find in it in the list in iViewNabber?

'Napper won't download live streams, as you know. But experience shows that some News 24 stuff appears on ABC websites, as videos that can be downloaded. Occasionally, they are also put onto iView.

What was it you wanted? The PM's community cabinet?

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloaders

Hi, i've just started using iViewNapper 2010301, mainly because we are too far from the exchange to whatch iView live on our crappy sync speed. Anyway, the kids button doesn't seem to work, causes an exception crash or something. I still can get the kids stuff via the catchup button though.

Is this a known problem, or something on my end?

Thanks
Jamie

Not sure if you still have the problem, but your RTMP host/server is wrong, it should be cp53909.edgefcs.net.

I've never gotten the fallback server (which is cp44823.edgefcs.net) to work for me.

The rest of the arguments look correct, and I'm assuming that the part after the colon isn't part of the url but something the enigma2 uses to work out the title.

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloaders

There have been changes to iView and it affects the way some free sites are now not free.

The new auth xml is below.

Code:

<iview xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.abc.net.au/iView/Services/iViewHandshaker">
	<ip>118.209.xx.yy</ip>
	<isp>iiNet</isp>
	<desc>iiNet Limited</desc>
	<host>AkamaiHDUnmetered</host>
	<server>http://iviewum-vh.akamaihd.net/z/</server>
	<bwtest>http://iviewum-vh.akamaihd.net/z/</bwtest>
	<token>daEdadNd9cEd5d2dTcfdGbPdwblabafbFbA-brYwY.-8-jnu_sGrqM&aifp=v001</token>
	<tokenhd>st=1372155070~exp=1372165069~acl=/*~hmac=adbb917b6c8a1fba20f6e6cf87870ca994a7056ded858d270c7e9eb3d4b0cf7e</tokenhd>
	playback/_definst_/
<text>iview is unmetered for iiNet and Westnet customers.</text>
	<free>yes</free>
</iview>
If anyone has the new url to pass to iView for free and not free ISPs then post here please.

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloaders

Looks like ABC has gone to AdobeHDS downloading at least for its Free quota ISPs.

This is very similar to what SBS did earlier with manifest files and such.

The AdobeHDS.php downloader would be required to get such things.

Have gone there previously and it is old code rehashed to C#.

It's getting the AUTH parameter that is holding things up.

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloaders

Please note:

Internode asked for me to remove the Napper files from their web hosting site as their T&Cs allowed them to do.

The downloads will be offline until another site can be found.
