TV Tuner help

basically I'm a noob at this... I just started making football videos. I want be ready for when the season starts so I can record the games and use that footage instead of relying on youtube highlight videos

so my question is can someone tell me what I need to record live HD tv to my computer.. and a program that allows you access to the video files

I searched google all day and only found tuners that are basically computer dvr's witch I'm sure you cant get at the movie file itself

can someone tell me everything i need?

As far as i know a TV tuner card is a kind of television tuner that allows television signals to be received by a computer.I had never used it.But i think i must try this.
