trying to edit a video, having problems, plz help.

i downloaded a program called VirtualDub for editing and convert a media file i recorded from tvants. but when i try to open the file this came up:

when i try to open the media file an "ASF validity check warning" poped up,
"The ASF file is 1593521205 bytes long, but originally 1593521081 bytes when encoded. It may have been truncated or corrupted. Open file anyways?"
i chose yes but nothing shows up.
plz help.

Repair .asf file first

Try to repair the .ASF file first using a special utulity or the reprocess function of WM Recorder.

p.s. I thought the VirtualDub didn't support Windows Media files since a legal conflict. At least not directly. Of course you may open almost anything with AviSynth.

What advance repair were you talking about? What software did you use?

Do you have any problem watching the video?

I suggest you to try several programs that can repair wmv/asf files. I don't see any other way of solving the problem.

Video converters usually fail to convert corrupted video files.
