Is there a way to remove drm from azw files?

I bought a Kindle Amazon book and I could not find a way to remove the drm. Any clues about how to do it?

Is it true that now every book has a different pid?

Thank you for the links, I will check them out, although they seem a bit old...

Re: Is there a way to remove drm from azw files?

Thank you again. The first link worked for me, but I had to download an older version of Kindle 4 PC.

I got the .mobi file with no DRM and then converted it to pdf with Calibre, but the formatting was not so good.

Any ideas about how to get a better formatting?

Please post the version of Kindle 4 PC that you used in the unswindle thread:
Removing DRM protection from Kindle for PC ebooks using unswindle
This may help many other users. Thank you!

Why do you need a PDF file? What device will be used for reading?

A PC will be used by a non-technical person and who does not even know what a .mobi file is.

IMHO it is better to avoid conversion if possible.

Most probably my favorite Cool Reader and ICE Book Reader do not support .mobi files. But freeware Mobipocket Reader Desktop is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
