Basically I'm building a house and I have placed 4 CCTV camera's around the building site and connected them to the AVtech 4ch dvr I would like to stream the images from the 4 cameras on the internet so my friends and family can watch the progress of the building of the house. Re: How to stream video/images from CCTV cameras using AVtech 4 ch DVR and Mac OSIt seems like AVtech 4ch network DVR has a video server software that can be used by multiple users over the Internet to watch or control CCTV cameras.
The problem is that AP software requires Windows XP or 2000. I'm not an expert in Macs or especially in stream broadcasting on Macs, but IMHO the simplest solution is to run Windows on a Mac using software like Bootcamp or Parallels Desktop for Max OS X. If you somehow can get videos or images on your Mac from AVtech 4ch network DVR, you will be able to send them over the network. You can say use freeware Videolan. However there could be problems with time delay, starting a broadcast from a remote computer,... |

Re: How to stream video/images from CCTV cameras using AVtech 4 ch DVR and Mac OSI've tried to get more information and I've found the following:
There you can find AVtech software for 3g phone and pda. I haven't used it and I don't really know whether it is an official source or not. Can't guarantee that it will work. At least make sure to check the software with reliable antivirus software like Kaspersky Anti-Virus or Kaspersky Internet Security. You should also contact AVTech at http://www.avtech.com.tw/english/contact.htm and request software 'coz it doesn't seem to be available on their official web-site. At least I can't find it anywhere. And you can ask for more help at other forums where people know more about CCTV cameras and DVRs. CCTV forum seemed to have lots of information and experts: http://www.cctvforum.com/forum-3.html You should request official AVTech support or visit other web resources 'coz I'm not an expert in CCTV and my conclusion might be erroneous. |

Re: How to stream video/images from CCTV cameras using AVtech 4 ch DVR and Mac OSHello Mac Users!
Try this Security View E for AVTech DVRs being used on Mac Computers. I do not have a Mac, (I have a peterbuilt! Quite hissing!), and I cannot test this for you. Here is the link, but it may get moved around on the Apple store site. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...rityviewe.html Here is the Google link should you need to find it if it moves. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&r...&aqi=&aql=&oq= If it works let me know! |

Re: How to stream video/images from CCTV cameras using AVtech 4 ch DVR and Mac OSHello,
I understand you already have the 4 CCTV cameras and would prefer to use those I guess. Alternatively, to get you live streams quickly to work you could use network cameras and just have them hosted, so to avoid even the need for a pc. A free service to do that is StreamBy.com, they retrieve the mjpeg live feed and provide a flash encoded stream which you can also embed into your site. There is a list of supported cameras you should check before. |
