stream transport failed

I am actually researching this problem on behalf of a friend who is not technologically skilled and asked me to solve it.
I am trying to download some videos from a website. I am not allowed to share the website's name but I will be happy to answer any technical questions about it. for example I will be happy to look in the source code and tell you what you want to know.

The website is definitely using rtmp technology.
I have tried rtmpdump along with rtmpdumphelper.
if I choose rtmusuck in the options menu, download never starts. The command prompt says "RTMP_readpacket, failed to read RTMP packet header"
If I choose rtmpsrv.exe, then the download does start, but it gets stuck at a certain percentage, sometimes at 27% sometimes at 58%

I have also tried stream transport. The download starts and the speed is good, around 240kb/sec but then it stops half way and download speed goes to 0 kb/sec

I dont know what else to do, I am so frustrated and do not want to end up having to use stupid camstudio to record the screen.

Any ideas guys?
