Split a music track

I got 4 hour long old radio show and I need to split it. What is the best way to do this.

Re: Split a music track

You can try to split it with a freeware sound editor Audacity.

Also Replay Music can re-record from your sound card splitting and tagging songs automatically. But there should be no song overlapping.

It can, but I don't really like its song splitting. I prefer to use freeware lossless MP3DirectCut for splitting and cutting MP3 files.

You can also use MP3 Magic. It allows to add several breakpoints.

Yeah, anyone with their opinion, I didn't get RadioTracker just for cutting the songs, I got it mainly to get unlimited music for free and until now did a great job.

Re: Split a music track

The radio station will not play in Tracker. I tape it with screamer radio. I can burn cd but need to put the tracks in to for zune. I also have 4 hours dat tapes of radio stations that need to get mp3 and split.

I got up to 17000 song it became a mess, so delete them to start over. 17000 x .79=$13,500.00 gone in one click. I love this RadioTracker.

Re: Split a music track

I second the recommendation of MP3DirectCut as an audio splitter and player. Very useful. Can even be used to time-record internet streams when used in combination with scheduled tasks and a browser.

Re: Split a music track

BeSplit is another option. It can fix, cut and split WAV/AC3/AAC/MPA/MP3/MP2/MP1 files. It allows you to add several splitting points. I wish it had a wave similar to the one that MP3DirectCut offers.

Please note that MP3DirectCut is a direct sound recording software, so it records from your sound card. In many cases it is better to download streams, because this allows you to record several streams simultaneously plus you can use your sound card when downloading any media content.

Re: Split a music track

You can also try Mp3splt-gtk. It can split MP3 and OGG files without decoding.

p.s. It doesn't work for me, but it seems that it allows to choose multiple split points.
