SoundTaxi removed DRM | Works on one computer but not another!I converted an XMas album with Soundtaxi.
I stored these converted files to a harddrive to which both my laptops (LT1 & LT2) have access to. I open my MediaMonkey on LT1 and try to burn a CD with these converted songs. No go. I keep getting the DRM error message and so I cannot burn. I open my MediaMonkey on LT2 and try to burn a CD with the same converted songs. Did everything absolutely fine. Not a problem. Why this different behavior between laptops, when the files are the same? Anyone have any ideas?? |

Re: SoundTaxi removed DRM | Works on one computer but not another!Unlike lossless DRM removal tools, Soundtaxi re-records your songs and compresses them using MP3, AAC or other codecs.
It is very unlikely that encoding process of Soundtaxi was improper. There must be some problem with MediaMonkey or some audio codecs on your PC. You can try to re-install them. You can also try to convert your album to another format with Soundtaxi and try again. BTW, do both your laptops have the same version of Windows? |

Re: SoundTaxi removed DRM | Works on one computer but not another!Straight off;the differences I know of are:
LT1 = no k-lite codec pack and it is an XPHome OS machine LT2 = k-lite codec pack and is an XPPro OS machine (Asides, another thing I noticed y/day when I tried to move a converted-MP4 (video) to my PSP: It takes a long, very long time to populate the files within the MP_ROOT folder of the PSP, when I try to view the contents from 'Explore'. Possibly a related problem?) |

Re: SoundTaxi removed DRM | Works on one computer but not another! After K-lite etc..still no go.
I hunted on the net and found that a lot of folks were in the same situation as I was. Specific to my problem: Dell Vostro 1500: I found out that Dell ships this laptop with a Vista-Ready version of the SigmaTel Audio Drivers, even if the customer orders XPHome/Pro OS (as in my case!). Dell Tech chat provided the new driver SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio. I installed it and things seem ok. This is a hasty, part-reply. I had problems with Audacity working properly before. With the new driver, works fine. I will test out SoundTaxied files and see how that pans out. Hope this helps others, looking for a resolve. Thank you. |
