Hi, right now for a freeware screen recorder I use
Debut screen recorder software.
It is freeware but you have to watch out when installing it, be careful about the installation process. Also, when recording to like mpeg or flv it has to download separate components which are free I believe but strange it doesn't come with it already. For the best quality I use the
windows media 9 codec for video and choose a mpeg layer 3 for audio.
It can record videos that play in windows media player and embedded flash players without adjusting hardware acceleration. It might be able to record screen activity from games too haven't tried it yet.
I still have freeware
zd soft screen recorder which I don't use right now because of audio issues. However it might work great for you.
