Same issue, Cam on local network functions, but on Internet, It DOES NOT

Well let us add another post about how this isn't working, lol
Have spent a total of about 20 hours in 2 days trying everything.
1st, the setup:

4 cam dvr (chinese junk, chinese rough translation pdf (impossible to make any sense of) here it is on site:

Now assuming I have a static IP (IP addy hasn't changed in 4 years)
I try and enter 184.6.X.XXX:33000, I get nothing, (unable to connect) over the WAN (NOTE: HAVE TO USE IE6 or better, No FF)
I type in http://192.168.3.3:33000/ within my network &
I get full interface and camera's working.

Now, considering I have 3 devices here (modem, router, & DVR) THAT ARE ALL running DHCP, should this be right???...I was under the impression that only one device (ISDN modem) should be running DHCP in the network chain, I could be wrong.

I have entered my IP address like this
http://184.6.xx.xxx:33000
get nothing, but all computers on internal here can see it if you put in
http://192.168.3.3:33000
Now there are the setup screens for this chinese nightmare, any brilliant minds here that can tell me what numbers to plug in where on this DVR Setup menu???

Oops, guess I forgot to mention that I also forwarded ports 33000 and 9000, and DMZ'd the DVR IP on the linksys router as well

Have you set up port forwarding? Haven't noticed this in your post... may be I'm just too tired.

If it doesn't work, try to use port 8080. And try not to use your router first by connecting your DVR to modem directly.

ISSUE RESOLVED!! I knew being ever diligent through the weekend would pay off. I now can access this system via my external ip address through IE now. this vid from Ut00b helped me..



the rub was that when dealing with a dsl modem AND a router (no combo's) that one has to put the modem in bridge mode so the router's DHCP handles everything!!! I knew where the issue was (DHCP insanity or "too many cooks in the "kitchen"), but every time i would try to disable the modem's DHCP, then the WAN went South. Turning off the router's DHCP didn't work fully either, modem (ol crappy zyx 660) would wig out. Looked for ever on where to bridge mode it
its under the Diagnostics tab for these 660R's. My modem's IP has disappeared tho, but not the issue here

Inherited another crap zyxel 660, BUT with a twist!!!, a combo 4 port wired router, want to reduce the chain of command any way, so I think I may try this out and lose the linksys if all goes well, will report any changes

so you we're able to access your zyx 660... hmmm, that i still haven't done yet... if ur fm PH, i myt be able to solve my problem w/ your fix... hope u can PM me what u used for your zyx.
when your zyx acted as bridge, ur internet access on ur laptop / pc still works...?

192.168.1.2 ip is working as a independent Ip, that is often used by a number of modem companies to be the default Ip. However this is designed in the firmware of the modem and will allow the end owner to gain access to the modem from a internet browser already installed on the computer system which happens to be linked to the wireless router.
