Review of Windows Live Messenger 2011 and how to Record MSN Audio/Video Call easilyMicrosoft has released the latest version of Windows Live Essentials 2011 to everyone on a Windows based PC, which comes loaded with very useful and helpful everyday programs that make our lives a little easier and more entertaining. If you’re not already aware from some of our previous previews, Windows Live Messenger 2011 contains a brand new ribbon interface that aims to bring Messenger in-line with other ribbon-based UI’s such as Windows 7 Paint and Microsoft Office 2010.
It is not supported or installable on Windows XP and only runs on Windows 7 and Windows Vista! It has gone through 15 changes and redesigns, protocol upgrades, rebranding, and many partnerships like Yahoo! Messenger and Facebook Chat. But if you're familiar with Windows Live Messenger, you'll notice all the old features are still available, from contact games, send and receive files, and many more. Many of the basic features have been slightly tweaked or improved, to suit consumers' needs better. Social Networks in Main UI The obvious major change to the interface is that the main window area is no longer just your friends list. The friends list has been moved to the right hand side and the majority of the window is taken up by your social networking. Currently, you can integrate Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn accounts into this main window. Add Facebook Chat Facebook Chat is one of the new additions in Windows Live Messenger, with the ability to talk to friends on Facebook without having to use a browser. Instant messages received from your Facebook contacts use the standard Messenger window, so your chats almost look identical to your real Messenger contacts', but you only have the ability to send text and emoticons. All your chats, including Facebook are now all grouped together in tabs, a much easier way to keep your contacts organized without having multiple windows flashing. New Design of Contact Window The contact window hasn't changed very much over the last few years, but this version gives file sharing a whole new meaning. Now when you paste links or send photos, Windows Live Messenger will open up a file sharing window, allowing you both to view the image within your contact window. And Windows Live Messenger automatically embeds YouTube videos in the conversation window when you post a YouTube link, as long as both people are running 2011. Updated Emoticons Windows Live Messenger has gone with the old emoticons that started with Windows Messenger back when Windows XP was first launched. The updated emoticons all have new designs and improved graphics for more detail, and some even have updated animations. Windows Live Messenger allows you to add your own personal emoticons, including animated ones, to send to your friends. Expended Options There hasn't been much added to the option panel over last year's release, but the layout has been slightly tweaked and options moved around. Some options have been expanded to better customize your Messenger, as well as clearer explanations, to better understand the options you are configuring. Unfortunately, custom names have since been removed, and now only display your first and last name, which is editable from Windows Live profile. Greatly Improved Video Call Window The interface for video has been completely revamped in Windows Live Messenger 2011. You might recall in earlier versions of Messenger, video calls were displayed inside large chromes within the conversation window. Moreover, video is now edge-to-edge so that you can see more of your friend, with no distractions. But of course you can still access all the rich sharing options and quickly add photos, web videos, and links to your video call. Show your pictures and see how your chat partner reacts. And finally I will introduce a very useful tool: Replay Video Capture - professional Windows Live Messenger / MSN Video recorder. How to Record Windows Live Messenger Audio/Video Call (MSN Video Call) Even though the video call of Windows Live Messenger has changed a lot, there is no recording function yet. It is a shame that so many users are eager to be able to record Windows Live Messenger / MSN video call and save on the PC to share with their friends and family whenever they want. Replay Video Capture allows to record audio/video calls from Windows Live Messenger easily This Windows Live Messenger / MSN Video Recorder is professional recorder software. It can record both sides of the conversation. So you will be able to MSN webcam during video call with your friends or family and save as WMV, MPG or other video file on your PC or laptop. This Windows Live Messenger video recorder is very easy to use, only a few mouse clicks are needed to complete MSN recording work, so that you can replay your recording anytime. And since it allows to record anything you can see on your screen, you can record both web-cams (or only one of them) as well as your desktop (computer screen). Replay Video Capture can use any video codec presented in your system for compressing your video in real time. Even better, it can create a DVD-Video disc for you, so you won't have any problems playing your video calls even on a standalone DVD player. It must be very interesting and joyful that you can share the recorded videos with your friends and family. |
