Remote access dvr through router

Hi all,

I have got new avtech dvr at my home to record and view my cameras at my house. I have connected the dvr to my router through Lan cable. I went into network settings and filled out all the settings including ip address of dvr box, port number, mask and set to static.

I then accessed my router through my laptop. Router is an eircom zyxel router. I set the firewall to low and went to port forwarding settings and set up opening the port I entered on dvr network settings.

I am using eagleeye app to view my cameras, I opened the app and it found my dvr box through the automatic setup with the ip address that was on my dvr box. I connected to the dvr box and it let me viwe the cameras on my wifi.

I am now looking for to access my cameras outside my network for when I am away from the house.

What else do I need to do to make this happen. Do I need another ip address and open another port to allow access to it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Remote access dvr through router

Very easy. I will show you step by step
1. Check you LAN IP address on you modem. Ex: 192.168.1.1
2. Set IP address and Port on you dvr. Ex: 192.168.1.254, Port: 8800
3. Access to your modem and find NAT or virtual server and add the IP address and port.
4. Check the port open already in this site: canyouseeme.org
5. Reg an account at no-ip.com or dyn.com, and add a host. Ex: myhomedvr.ddns.net
6. At DDNS in your modem, please add account, password, domain you were reg at step 5
7. Access address in IE: <yourdomain>:<port> Ex: myhomedvr.ddns.net:8800
OR
install eagleeyes on CHPlay or App Store to access your dvr.
Any help, I can help you with Teamviewer.
Sorry for my English, I'm Vietnamesse

Re: Remote access dvr through router

In your DVR there is a port for mobile devices,
May be you didn't forward it in the router.
