Recording with Stereo mix, how do I improve the quality?


The wavs that I get from recording with the stereo mix option turn out to be twice as loud as what I record and full of static and noise. How do I fix this/make it better?

Just do a sound check. It seems to me that your inputs are coming in too high.

Take a look at both your sound recoding software and your stereo mixer, make sure that both left and right channels are not peaking. Otherwise turn down the sound levels of your sources such a stereo mixer, ...
