Record xbox 360 gameplay in SD using DVD recorder while playing in HD

Hi, i want to record my xbox 360 gameplay in order to make gameplay commentaries and montages.
I dont have enough money for a Hauppage HD PVR, so I thought, DVD recorder are much cheaper, and I can just rip the dvd's to my pc after recording. Let me explain my set up first.
I have my xbox hooked up to my hdtv via hdmi.
Can i hook up a dvd player to my xbox via component, scart, or red white yellow-plugs whilst playing on my tv via HDMI? Please let me know.
Thanks in advance, Mark

I don't know any cheap ways of recording in SD while playing in HD.

You can use EasyCap or some other cheap capture card for recording in SD while playing in SD.
