Re: Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

In WM Recorder click Help -> User guide.

The User guide explains things like
  • how to set up the PRO or ADA Auto recording mode,
  • how to record in real time.
If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to ask.

Actually this program is obviously not for me. It can only "record". I don't want to record I want to download.

Re: Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

There is no universally recognized term for stream recording, but you shoudn't be afraid of the word record here. WM Recorder either downloads the stream or captures packets from Windows Media Player, but you do not lose any quality anyway. WM Recorder can't record from the sound card!

p.s. It seems that I was the first one to trying to separate recording from ripping and downloading, but still I often do not follow this conception.

Re: Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

Oh, I thought it recorded from the sound card. Yes, I managed to get it to capture packets from Windows Media Player but I did not manage to download the stream with it or with the other two programs (HiDownload and NetTransport). In one of the programs' logs it says something about encryption (NTL or something)? Anyway I appreciate your help all this time.

I didn't have any problem downloading the mms windows media streams with WM Recorder, Replay AV and NetTransport.

In what mode did you try to capture streaming audio with WM Recorder?

How do you get a stream URL for NetTransport and HiDownload? Do you use URL Snooper or get it from WM Recorder, Replay AV?

I got the url with URL Snooper2, mms://media.livesets.com/ONDEMAND-25646876112/Cristian Varela vs Pepo at Audio Link on LiveSets Radio

And then I put this URL in WM Recorder (in URL mode) in the URL textbox. And then it tries to download (and changes a few protocols) but doesn't work and then the status just reads CANCELLED.

WM Recorder in the PRO and ADA Auto recording mode can detect stream URLs and record from them automatically.

As I already mentioned, you can get the stream URLs from WM Recorder and Replay AV and record with other programs.

URL Snooper gives incorrect URLs for these streams.

Re: Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

Code:
http://media.livesets.com/ONDEMAND-79571077168/Cristian%20Varela%20vs%20Pepo%20at%20Audio%20Link%20on%20LiveSets%20Radio%20%2816-02-2008%29.mp3"]http://media.livesets.com/ONDEMAND-79571077168/Cristian%20Varela%20vs%20Pepo%20at%20Audio%20Link%20on%20LiveSets%20Radio%20(16-02-2008).mp3
I got this link with WM Recorder and tried to input it to HiDownload and Orbit but they don't download it correctly, they get a 1Kb .wax file or something. I can record in WM Recorder in the PRO mode, but the I have to wait until the end of every set. Therefore, I'm asking if it's possible to download this, because of the speed.

Re: Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

Your previous URLs were beginning with "mms://" so it is a good idea to change "http://" onto "mms://" and record with WM Recorder in the URL mode or with any other Windows Media recorder.

Re: Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

WM Recorder now says it can't find the recording directory. It doesn't work after changing the dir or reinstalling the whole app. The download link also doesn't work in HiDownload or NetTransport, In NetTransport it says something like "unknown reason". In fact, each time I get the link, it is different it's not a static link to a wma file, this ONDEMAND text part changes... Therefore, it's probably not that simple to download as you claim it is. Is this forum for advertising certain applications, or for actual help & discussion?
