Record Shoutcast stream with slightly overlapping songs...

Hello,

I am a huge Shoutcast fan, and am new to this whole recording thing. I have read up a decent amount and have seen that Replay Music is probably closest to what I am looking for. I am looking to record a streaming station (specifically SKY.FM's hits station), and have it basically tag and separate each song into mp3's.

NOW, the question I have is can Replay Music handle this even thought the stream is set to overlap the end of one song with the beginning of the next song?

Please lead me in the right direction... since this would be so great to be able to do. I'd really like to utilize Shoutcast in achieving this task.

Thanks!!!

P.S. My goal is to do this and place the MP3's on a 2GB microSD card to play on my cell phone, and to copy them onto mp3 cd's for my car.

Re: Record Shoutcast stream with slightly overlapping songs...

Replay Music is a great program, but I prefer to rip radio stations rather than record from my sound card.

I use freeware StreamRipper to record Shoutcast radio stations.

I also like RadioTracker. It can record MP3 music you've selected as soon as it is played on any of over 14,000 watched Shoutcast radio stations worldwide.

It is not very good when songs are overlapped. StreamRipper is probably the best stream capturing software for such Shaoutcast streams.

Thanks for the input. I downloaded StreamRipper and it works very well with recording Shoutcast streams. The automatic splitter unfortunatly is no good, as it isn't able to split the songs at the right places, so the resulting mp3s are pretty much useless, so I turned that off and am now just recording the stream all as one mp3.

For overlapped songs Replay Music is probably the best solution. And it is very nice that you can split the songs with it manually by hitting the "Split now" button.
