Record SD upscaled to 1080i with AvermediaTV DVR (HDMI from Ambery HDV6 scaler)Please anyone can help me?
I use HDMI Multimedia A/V Center With Composite Video S-Video VGA Component Video HDMI Inputs - http://www.ambery.com/hdmuavcewico.html to upscale sd (480p/720p) up to 1080i/1080p. Maybe this product accept 1080i/1080p - 60hz. But i still dont know if the avermediaTV DVR can support 60hz. Or the product is a defective one. But unfortunately, i can only upscale and record up to 720p with avermediaTv DVR. Any help... Best Regards, Stephanehl |

Re: Record SD up to 1080i with AvermediaTV DVRWell, i find this setting message from it manual - Resolution setting: 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P.
Use “RES.” key at front panel to set the output resolution. The sequence is in a circling order. If the picture can not show on screen, the TV may not support that resolution you select. Please change to another resolution. For example, if the TV can not show while you select 1080i, please try to change resolution to 720p, 1080p etc. to meet the resolution and format that TV supports. Why the TV could not display the 1080i output from my HDV6 unit ? When up-scaling the video signal to the 1080i level, some LCD TVs or other flat panel displays may not support the interlaced video unless the 1080i is de-interlaced before showing on the screen under that circumstance. If 1080i can not show on your TV, please change the output resolution from your HDV6 to 720p, 1080p etc. to match what TV supports. So my next question is that how to downscale 1080p - 60hz to 1080i - 50/60hz? Any suggestion? |

Re: Record SD up to 1080i with AvermediaTV DVRI don't really understand why to upscale video and then record it. It makes sense to me to record without upscaling. Then your TV should be able to upscale the video.

I have read the spec's on this scaler. this unit will not work when the output is analog with a [hdcp] hdmi input..this is part of the copy protections used when trying to record a 1080 res signal.. this is the law , so it had to be made this way. recording at the lower resolutions should be possible. the avermedia card most likely has this same copy protection. I myself are very interested in upscaling the 480i output from my DTV sat receiver . trouble getting dish aimed at the 5 satelites.. since you own this hdv6 how well does it work . picture quality ? what TV are you using ? what issues do you have with this other than trying to record 1080 res. ? reinstall the software, check that you have a processor that has the power to process this ! most find 720 they have no problem ..this is with no hdcp protections on the signal... |
