record my free video streaming from livestream.com (rtmp:// .flv)

Is it worth trying to record my free video streaming from livestream.com? Maybe I'm more technologically inept than I thought I was, but I have not had success. Do I need special software? Hardware? Should I just go to a completely different video streaming site?
