Re-broadcasting DRM stream within my home network

Hello

I have subscribed to liveuktv.com and it works fine on my Windows XP computer. However, I would like to watch the same stream in my living-room, on my modded XBOX (using XBMC), which is able to play any stream, except that it does not support DRM.

First I thought I would use windows media encoder on my PC by capturing the PC screen and re-encoding it real time, then connecting from my XBOX, which is on the same home network. It does not work (I just get a black screen at the other end).

Any idea what I could do?
Thank you!

VLC player can re-broadcast streaming media content. It can convert streaming content on the fly. Let me know if it works with Windows Media DRM protected streams.

You may also try another approach:
1. Record Windows Media stream with any media stream recorders. I recommend WM Recorder for Windows Media streams.
2. Remove DRM protection from the recorded files. I recommend free FairUse4WM 1.3 fix 2.

Re: Re-broadcasting DRM stream within my home network

Thanks but for some reason I don't understand VLC player cannot play the streams correctly. It does not give any error message, it simply plays some sort of pixelated, psychodelic-looking images instead of the actual thing. As I said in my inital post, Windows Media Player is playing these DRM streams perfectly well. Obviously since VLC cannot play the streams, I haven't tried the re-broadcasting thing...
I guess I could do what you say about recording it first, then remove DRM, but bear in mind that I subscribed to this liveuktv thing because it is live TV... if I record it, it kind of defeats the object...
Do you know any other software I could try instead of VLC? The issue with WMP is that it does not seem to let you capture the screen with Windows Media Encoder so that I can re-broadcast it...

Thanks!

There is no software I can add to the list.

If you like to watch live TV you may use a video card with TV out.
Some newer video cards even have an HDMI video out that can be used with HD screens.

@sixofclubs:
Here are some examples of what you can use: mogulus.com, blinkotv.com, ustreamtv.com
