Problem with Skype web camera: computer can not detect a webcam

I'm trying to do the voice call with Skype and when i click on it it says "computer can not detect a webcam". Its plugged into the computer. People can hear me but idk why it wont work. Whats wrong with it?
please help asap.

In Skype go to "Options" -> "Video devices" and enable your web-cam. Then test whether it works or not.

Also make sure your web-cam is not used by other applications.
