There's a community radio station in Wolverhampton called WCR:

www.wcr1350.co.uk/

Their live stream seems impossible to capture. Using URLHelper as well as digging around in my Temporary Internet Files folder has yielded the following address for the stream:

http://195.74.96.82:8000/

Yet when I paste this into NetTransport, Streambox and ASFRecorder I get nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

I tried as well and I couldn't get anything best thing to do is to contact the people there and tell them you can't get anything.

You shouldn't have any problem recording Shoutcast/Icecast (ICY) MP3 audio streams with many Shoutcast rippers

However if you can't play it, you can' record it.

I just installed GetASFStream and it works a treat with this url. Don't know why Streambox and NetTransport don't work, but GetASFStream works just fine.

WM Recorder and Replay A/V also work fine with the URL.

Streambox is not good at all at recording Shoutcast or Windows Media stream URLs. I suggest you to use it to record Real Media/Real Audio/Real Video streams only,

WM Recorder is the easiest and the most powerful stream recorder. In AUTO mode you don't even have to click the record button to capture streaming content and save it to your hard drive.

As for shoutcast music radio stations, I suggest you to use Shoutcast rippers with automatical song splitting and tagging

NetTransport works with the stream

Please rename it to http://195.74.96.82:8000/, then select the task properties/other settings/user-agent to "WinampMPEG/5.0". Below is the log.
