Problem capturing internet radio stations (Windows Media)

Hi all,

I have a problem trying to record some internet radio stations I'd like to record to listen to later.
The particular ones I am having a problem with are the GCap group of stations.

For example, 2CR radio is a radio station which is reasonably local to me but is not in range of FM radio or DAB...

The stream URL appears to be http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/playlist.asx?show=22
This then appears to direct to http://mediasrv.musicradio.com/2CR?W...tBitrate=40000

I am using Replay AV and it just will not capture the stream. I've also tried other software and it does exactly the same.
Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

James Uppington

Re: Problem capturing internet radio stations

Hi James -

I tried this, and received a "not enough bandwidth" error when connecting via Replay A/V and WM Recorder.

The way to record this is to use Replay A/V and the "Capture by Recording Audio Output" option, instead of the "Capture by Downloading + Stream Capture". (This is set under the Basic tab for each show). THis option records exactly what you hear from your speakers.

Best Regards,

I get the same problem - Error 453 "Not enough bandwidth" - when recording with any stream recorder. However I can play the stream without any problem.

It is interesting whether it can be caused by the following strings:
Quote:
Pragma: stream-switch-count=2
Pragma: stream-switch-entry=ffff:1:2 ffff:2:0

Re: Problem capturing internet radio stations

The only issue I have of using the recording audio method rather that capturing the stream is that only one radio station can be recorded at once that way.
That could prove to be a problem. It's an annoying problem.

Re: Problem capturing internet radio stations

I was able to record only with WM Recorder in the PRO mode and MPlayer, however the recording are not playable. I've tried to fix the Windows Media audio file with WM Recorder reprocessing function and with ASF Tools to no avail (ASF Tools shows "Unknown padding flag: 40" error).
