About drmdbg.exe
drmdbg.exe allows to extract your license keys for DRM protected Windows Media .WMA audio files and .WMV video files. After extracting license keys you may use drm2wmv or freeme2 to remove DRM protection from Windows Media files.

Older drmdbg.exe version were command line applications, the latest ones have GUI.

When using this program it doesn't seem to create any folders. Should it be creating a folder called drm2 anywhere?

I'm pretty sure i have IBX 11.0.6000.7000.

I have downloaded drmdbg 2007/11/06. It isn't a command line utility though which is what I was expecting.


When i load drmdbg.exe it loads media player and then when I click Multi Scan it starts playing the wmv file I have in the same folder. Is this correct?


Why does it not work?

Any help would be great!

you can select an input directory (WMV dir) and an output directory (DRM2 dir) before clicking onto the "Multi scan" button. You can also create the DRM2 directory by checking the "Make DRM2 dir" checkbox

I was assuming that it create some files in the DRM2 folder, however this folder is not created. Are they created elsewhere where I can use them with drm2wmv?

I was assuming it was going to create files in that folder then you run drm2wmv [drm wmv file] and it finds the files drmdbg created in the same folder and then undrmed it.


Also I tried putting two drmed wmv files in the WMV folder and drmdbg did the same as before and jus started playing the first file. It never even got to playing the second.

oh and I checked and I do have 11.0.6000.7000
Would the 12-25-07 version have a better chance of working than the 2007/11/06

Unfortunately I don't have any statistics at the moment. You can try which one works better for you.

Update: The 12/25/07 version of drmdbg works with 11.0.6000.7000 with the latest version of WMP11 on Windows XP Professional. The 1/01/08 version DID NOT WORK. Curious, eh?
