Then download ineptkey.pyw version 5 and ineptepub.pyw version 5.2 (see the first post of the thread) and try again.

Hey, it worked!!! I have just one more question. I think I read that I can do a whole folder, and not just one file at a time. I tried it and I got an error:

"Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\USER\\My Documents\\My Books\\Reader Library'

I had my Input file:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\My Books\Reader Library

Output File:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\My free ebooks

What did I do wrong?

Sorry, I just reread the whole thread. Before I do it, I want to make sure that aineptepub.pyw will work with ineptkey.pyw version 5. What (if it matters) version of that aineptepub.pyw should I look for? Do you have a good link to it?

this is all waaay beyond me :-( can i possibly send a few books to someone who can already strip drm for me?
any help greatly appreciated

AFAIK DRM can only be removed on a computer which was used to download your ebooks.

Some patience and perseverance and you will be able to do it.

I have one more quick question now that I have freed my Sony books. Is there a different process if I were to start buying Kindle books?

1. There are Kindle readers, Kindle4PC, Kindle4iphone
2. Different formats
3. Different DRM removal software

I would be buying the books on my iPad. Since you obviously know way more than me, where would you suggest I buy them? It looks like Amazon and B&N have the biggest selection of books. Would I be able to buy books on my iPad from either of these and then remove make them so that I can read it on any of my readers?
