newbie- is it possible to record audio only from prerecorded tv link on the web??

Hi

I want to record a newscast on a regular basis but do not want the video - just the audio. Will the programs listed in the sticky work?

Thank you

Marvin

It is usually more reliable to download video stream with a media stream recorder and then extract audio track from the video file with an audio/video converter.

Replay A/V is a stream recorder that can convert downloaded streaming content to a format like MP3, OGG. But I suggest you to download video stream first and then convert it to an audio file (You can do it with Replay A/V as well). Replay A/V can schedule your recordings as well.

Please note that some streams can't be downloaded so you have to use direct sound recording software (it can record any sound produced by your sound card). Audacity is a free sound editor and direct sound recording software that I recommend. But as the majority of direct sound recorders it has no scheduling feature.

p.s. please post a link so that we can suggest the best way to record your stream
