Need help with WM Recorder 12.1: Recording MTV music videos: encrypted RTMPE streams

I just purchased and installed WM Recorder 12.1 (the suite) and can't seem to record anything for more than a couple of seconds if at all. I have been trying to record various MTV music videos. I am running Windows Vista. Anyone have any thoughts about what I'm doing wrong?

You might want to try upgrading to the newest version, 12.5. It's actually free for you being that you've got Version 11 or higher. Do me a favor please and do the following:

Please UN-install ALL versions of WMR and WINCAP from your computer (the easiest way is through start/control panel/add-remove programs).

Once they're un-installed, please download and install WMR 12.5

Wincap should download automatically as a part of this process.

On another note, after you do this, specifically..Can you please provide me with the URL of the video you're trying to record, so I can trouble shoot the issue?

WM Recorder or any other streaming video rippers don't support encrypted RTMPE videos. You can only record them with WM Capture or any other screen video capture software.
