What is the most current WM-DRM stripper?

Hey guys

I've been removing DRM from Windows Media for quite a while now, but I'm curious if there's any newer way, as I've run into some issues.

I run Windows 7 64-bit natively, so I use VMWare to run a virtual Windows XP installation. I've got a VM set aside exclusively for decrypting, it's XP SP3 vanilla, with updates turned off. I have the version of FairUse4WM that involves installing a modified version of WMP11 with an older IBX version - enabling that particular build of FU4WM.

What I'm running into, though, is that a lot of files now seem to play back with choppy video and skips, almost as if in the process of removing the DRM, parts of the data got corrupted. These are all Digital Copy® versions of movies, that I redeem inside that VM and strip the DRM off of.
When I transfer them back to my main computer, whether I play them in Media Player Classic or WMP, they appear choppy at parts. I can't tell if this is just a bad digital copy file or if something is wrong with the decrypter.

Is there a newer method that actually works? If so, where can I get it? most of the links on this site are dead. Mine is "2007-04-29 Fix" of FairUse4WM that includes the WMP11 custom installer.

I've tried FreeMe but it asks for the keys manually and I have absolutely no idea how to get them. FairUse4WM can find the keys just fine, it just won't show them to me in a format that I can understand.

Sorry for the long post, just thought I'd ask since I'm using a 4-year-old method that's starting to have issues on newer WMV files...

what's the IBX version you got?
FairUse4WM 1.3 works fine here. it's posted on this forum site.

Says here my IBX is version 11.0.5497.6258 and my "DrmClien.DLL" is version 9.0.0.5403.

I'm mainly wondering if there's a newer way to do this or if I'm already using that method.

It seems like any version of FairUse4WM would work. See the following thread for the latest updates:

hi, you're using the correct method. i dont know to what extent the version of DrmClien.DLL (it ships with Windows Media Player!) is important but what you could do is trying to download and play FREE public DRM-protected *.wmv-files so that we can compare.

my undrmed videos from the BBC iplayer TV webpages play perfectly well!

( maybe it is time to reinstall your old Windows for the sake of ensuring a CLEAN windows. Clean from dirt, bad codecs, or other "influences". )
