lost license due to hard drive failure...

Hi,

I recently purchased a couple of albums from buy.com's music download service. Shortly thereafter I experienced major hard drive failure, and according to buy.com's FAQ section, they are not responsible for hard drive failure. I have LEGALLY purchased this music, and because of some stupid bureaucratic nonsense, I will possibly not be able to listen to it. Is there any way around this? I wish I would be allowed to listen to it in a 100% legit way, but it seems like I will be forced to seek a "black market" solution to this problem. Any ideas?

Re: lost license due to hard drive failure...

Nobody has cracked WMA DRM yet. DRM protection can be removed only if you have valid licenses.

DRM limits the rights of legal purchasers. One can see the service being shutdown, have system failure, can't listen the music on his/her portable device.

Never ever buy DRM protected songs. You can buy DRM-free music at the same price!

buy.com is not responsible for your hard drive failure, but you should request new licenses from it. Many services allow you to get licenses several times ('coz obviously one can have new OS, upgrade PC, hard disk failure,...)
