At Last - Mp4 Iplayer Drm Removed

AT LAST - BBC MP4 IPLAYER DRM REMOVED

I found a program that will recode MP4's without DRM as mpg or wmv

I've tried it with HD IPlayer episode of Dr Who from MP4 (with DRM) to MPEG2 (without)

Recorded the resulting file to DVD and now have IPlayer videos

AT MY COMMAND - (EVIL LAUGH HAHAHAHHAHA)

....... find the magic program here.......

The "magic program" is just Replay Video Capture.

Thought it worth mentioning to save people time clicking to a web page they probably seen many times.

Its not Freeware and its not a DRM header removal program.
It's just another screen grab package.

I'm about to give up searching for a free program to remove rather than re-encode.

I have a full version of WM Capture. I find it perfect to copy on screen...any video that is displayed on the screen....

Re: At Last - Mp4 Iplayer Drm Removed

I've just downloaded WM Capture 5 and tried it on a BBC iPlayer recording I made at the weekend. Seemed to work just fine and I watched the replay successfully. However, I tried then to go into the program to tweak some settings and see if I could improve the on-screen profile, and also to read up on what it costs and how to buy it etc, but it seems to have vanished from my computer. Seems I can uninstall it, but there's no option to run the program (again). I'm running Win7 Ultimate.

Have I done something wrong, or is this what's meant to happen? I now can't do anything unless I uninstall it and re-download it, which seems extraordinary. On the strength of this I wouldn't buy it as it seems a bit flakey - even though the actual recording/replay (all two minutes of it) worked well.

I don't really understand your problem completely. By default the WM Capture 5 installer adds icons to the Start menu and desktop. You can also go to C:\Program Files (x86)\WMCap 5 and launch WMCap.exe directly. Do you have this directory? Do you have any WMCapture shortcuts?

As for the price, you may find it at http://wmrecorder.com/order_wmcap.php

I agree, that's what most programs do when installed. But this one leaves just a folder in the Start menu, and the only option in that folder is to uninstall. I can't run the program a second time as there's no option to do it. I've never come across this before.

Notified the developer. Should be easy to fix.

I'll wait to see a follow-up here then. The quick trial I made of the software told me that it is what I want, but I'm not convinced at present that it even runs properly.

Someone asked a question above that also interests me. Is there any way of playing an iPlayer MP4 file that has been saved to the hard disk? There was one programme in particular that I wanted to keep, and in anticipation of a solution emerging I saved a copy of its MP4 file. The original was time-deleted.

I wish the BBC would realise that most people don't want to circumvent all their controls and write out files to DVD, even sell them. Most people I have come across share my wish merely to be able to watch specific programmes beyond the very short time period allowed. I don't mind the programme retaining its encryption so nothing else can be done with it. I'd even pay the BBC for this facility - after all, I'm going to have to pay for a solution of some sort whatever I do.

When you download the files using non-BBC software there is no DRM.

Hi
The way to do this is to download the files using non-BBC software such as get_iplayer from here:
