Jaksta stops recordingI've had Jaksta for a few years (suggested by this website actually). The program used to record everything just fine, although you would have to fix with the timestamps after recording.
A while back, Jaksta recordings(you have to record on this site) on myfreecams.com started to just spontaneously quit. The stream itself would not have had any problems at all but the recording would just stop. The problem has gotten worse and worse and now sometimes it can be at the least maddening or just plain impossible to record. Other times it seems to work fine. Also sometimes, one stream will work fine and another will quit every minute if your lucky and sometimes just a second or two after starting. Occasionally the recording will just hang and never recover while the stream is still fine? Like I said this started a while back. Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one? I've seen this across multiple computers too and multiple internet connections. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this? Last edited by Stream Ripper : 02-22-2013 at 02:18 AM. |

Re: Jaksta stops recordingno, you are not the only one.
for your information, applian technology's replay media catcher is a re-branded/licensed version of jaksta recorder, and there are plenty of posts reporting problems with its use to record flash video streams from myfreecams, in particular since users were forced to switch from stream downloading to recording. it would appear that the stream recording process is more sensitive to discontinuities (some of which, it has been suggested, may even be being deliberately introduced by the site) in the video feeds than downloading. the result is that recordings can end at random points during a broadcast. and if the video feed is very poor, it can be a struggle to record anything. i have raised the issue with applian support, who referred the matter to their (jaksta) developer. however, to-date, no fix has been forthcoming. however, i recently discovered a bit of freeware, rtmpdumphelper, a frontend to the open source rtmpdump toolkit, that has so far proved to be a more reliable, though still flawed, stream recorder than this commercial product. |

For rtmpdump you may find the need to fiddle with the source code... which means compiling your own builds of it. |
