Hi, I'm a GNU/Linux and GNU/FreeBSD enthusiasm and I'm also using Jabber and SIP and IRC, all of them are FLOSS as well as Linux!

I do not rely on a centralized controlled power such as AOL, Microsoft, Yahoo etc.

If you (admins) like the Jabber/XMPP idea (decentralized and inter-domain IM with no limitations by design) then please consider on installing a Jabber/XMPP server in your own domain and make a chat-rooms for us to chat at

Most users of this forum try to hide their identities. And I believe that ICQ, Skype, AOL or whatever other contacts are not used even by 0.5% of our users for communicating with each other, so don't see much sense for an additional server load.

Feel free to offer your Jabber server or an IRC chat for our forum users.

p.s. I use Jabber and SIP, as well as Skype, MSN and ICQ.

I'll look up for a Jabber/XMPP chat room. Currently, there is a room for RTMPDump at freenode, if you are using Jabber you can connect with rtmpdump%irc.freenode.org@irc.draugr.de (freenode.net will see the IP of Über Draugr.de | draugr.de and draugr.de will see my account ID :P)

As written: DO NOT connect to http://jabber.org/ (acquired by Cisco Systems (cisco-spy.pdf) at September 2008) neither to http://jabber.org.au/ (Privacy is not an option, at all!)

I only have a one AIM contact, eight ICQ contacts, two MSN contacts and four YIM contacts (15 contacts) that are left to migrate to Jabber/XMPP ( I'm using transports to connect to AIM, ICQ, MSN, YIM and those platforms can't see my IP )
