Question

http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/

Hello,
I've been spending last 3 days trying to figure out a way to download videos from:
http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/

more specifically from:
http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/toc-...-2015/episodes

I'm very good with computers, but I'm not a programmer, thus all methods that requires command lines in RTMP are difficult to understand, unless I would get a very well explained method "how to" with lots of examples.
(or a method that would apply specifically to downloading all those episodes)

My OS is Win 8.1
I use Chrome, Firefox or Explorer, depending of the need.

I have tried without success all these programs:
-IDM (internet download manager): no download button appears.
-CapTv : not supported site
-rtmp-dump-helper: (using the ease method of cliking the program and the stream is supposed to automatically be downloaded): nothing happens
-rtmpExplorer: nothing happens
-allMyTube: does not work
-StreamTransport: does not work
- Wondershare Video Converter : download failed
-Applian Replay Media Catcher: download does not start

-Url Snooper : Not sure what to do with the results. url is not recognised in Captv, and nothing happens in Firefox.
-HTTP Network Sniffer : find 200 Url, each 1Mb fragment of the video. In firefox, starts a download of a useless 1Mb file.

The only program that seemed to work is GetFLV but the free version limits the download to 30Mb of the video. The paid version is too expensive. The torrent versions do not work : downloads jammed at 12%.

There is this Blog that seems to explain a bit "how to" download from website Tou.tv which is also owned by Radio-Canada, but mostly for people with "advanced" skills, and I have no clue if both site works the same way or not:
http://store-it.appspot.com/tou/tou_mobile.html

So all this said, I've read a lot of people are looking into downloading (for the purpose to watch offline mostly) videos from Radio-Canada that are supposed to be free (which is not against the law at all, but they are a bunch of control freaks), and there is even one public blogger that received une mise en demeure to remove his article on how to batch download with RTMP on Tou.tv

So if anyone is clever enough + has the time to dig into this and can come up with a good & easy step by step method, I would be most grateful!

p.s. I did purchase the 4 seasons of Toc Toc Toc offered on DVD **BUT** I found out they only offer 30 episodes per season when they originally contains 65 each, AND there is 8 seasons in total.
They are not going to release any other DVD for that TV show, and as far as I'm concerned, they can screw themselves.
I want to gather ALL the episodes because my daughter simply loves it.
Once it's done, I will share it with all who wants it.

Thank you and cheers!

Re: http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/

hi

the site use hds protocol (.f4m)
it's encrypted
with hds protocol you can use AdobeHDS

Code:
http://stream-recorder.com/forum/adobe-hds-downloader-t14823.html
an other way

example
Code:
http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/toc-toc-toc/2014-2015/episodes/351504/paques-oeuf-chocolat-fete?isAutoPlay=1

in source page you can find the id of the video

Code:
view-source:http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/toc-toc-toc/2014-2015/episodes/351504/paques-oeuf-chocolat-fete?isAutoPlay=1
Code:
<div id="7266481-console-container" class="Main-Player-Console"></div>
then

Code:
http://api.radio-canada.ca/validationMedia/v1/Validation.html?output=json&deviceType=ipad&connectionType=broadband&appCode=medianet&idMedia=7266481

with the api you can find the hls protocol (.m3u8) and use ffmpeg or livetreamer

Re: http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/

Hello, thank you for your answer.
If I understand, you offered 2 methods.

For 2nd method, I understand how to "view-source" and how to find
"div id". After that, I don't know where this api comes from nor what to do with it.

First method seems easier so I have installed the add-on for Firefox HDS Link Detector. It gave me a link that I pasted in notepad.

I went to read 1st link you provided which refers to 2 other pages.
The wiki page (I don't undersatnd much of what's written there) : https://github.com/K-S-V/Scripts/wiki
says:
Installing PHP for dummies
1. Download PHP 5.4 zip package
2. (etc...)

I had some trouble with the whole process, but I finally made it work.

Now, I open cmd prompt, type php -v, then I paste the link from HDS link Detector, and I get this message: "could not open input file: AdobeHDS.php"

Is there anywhere a step by step easy method for Dummies to do this downloading of those freaking videos? I'm exasperated...

Re: http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/

How did you derive that link to the API that shows the m3u8 url?
