Help please DRM trouble!! How to remove DRM protection from CD files?Okay, complete computerphobe here I bought a cd and downloaded it to my computer with the intention of loading some songs onto the kids' MP3 players. Well, here is where the problems started!!
I had no idea what DRM's were (till now) the CD obviously had one! Now windows media keeps shutting down saying it had to because of a problem!? When I tried to sync. anything onto the player it shuts down also. Help please? Do I need to remove files - if so what? I have tried to contact Microsoft but they are not replying!! Please bear in mind when replying, I am an old biddy who needs real laymens terms and big help!!! Thanks, Nicky x |

Re: Help please DRM trouble!! How to remove DRM protection from CD files? What kind of format do your files on CD have?
Are they really DRM protected. Have you tried to rip your CD files to MP3s using freeware CD rippers like ExactAudioCopy? |

Re: Help please DRM trouble!! How to remove DRM protection from CD files?Hi - thanks for your reply - I tried with WMA format but then used Jodix converter and converted the files to MP3 but the problems started when I tried using windows media 11 to sync with the player?
The way I have got round it is by opening the player and then just copying and transferrring the music onto the player - this seems to have worked, so I am not sure if it was a DRM or a problem with WMP11? |

Re: Help please DRM trouble!! How to remove DRM protection from CD files?I don't really know what caused your problem. When you convert WMA to MP3 you lose quality. It is better to rip CDs to MP3s instead. And you can do it with free software! Even WMP can be used to rip to MP3 format.
