Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

GETFLV 98.229.5.8, Windows 7 Pro

GETFLV appears to be completely broken for Hulu capture. It will not capture anything but ads.

Downgraded to 98.185.18.
Was able to download the Daily Show and start the download of movies. The movies may stall during the download. But the latest version 98.229.5.8 doesn't even capture anything but the first ad (sometimes). Other than that it stalls.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Anybody got a fix for the stutter at the beginning of FLV videos downloaded from Hulu with GetFLV? When opened in Avidemux, non of the files can be seeked by frames after exactly 656 milliseconds, i.e. every frame after that is ignored until 05.088 seconds. GetFLV's built-in FLV Fixer doesn't do anything, remuxing a file to MP4/MKV with ffmpeg/mkvmerge doesn't work either. The only thing that seems to work is Replay Media Catcher's "Fix Interval" option of "Fix FLV" tool, but the video gets slowed down. Any other solutions?

Thank you in advance.

I don't seem to have this problem. I always install the latest version before using.

Search for, download, and use FLVExtract on the FLV file which will separate the audio and video streams, then use mkvmerge/mkvToolNix to combine them back together into an mkv and the stutter will be gone.

Also, just downloaded the latest (date stamp of the file in the ZIP is 10/18/2015) version 9.8.233.88 and it's working with Hulu - 1000K for SD and 1900K for HD streams.

What does FLVExtract do that simply importing the FLV into MKVToolnix does not?

I and numerous other people experience an annoying delay at the beginning of each Hulu FLV that GetFLV downloads as described by Rancher above. The file plays for about half a second, then freezes for a few seconds, then picks up where it left off. As a result, when using MediaInfo, the frame rate is listed as Variable instead of Constant. FLVExtract corrects the video timing to make it the proper constant frame rate and eliminates this delay. If there is a simpler way to eliminate this extra step, please let us know. But it sounds like you are not experiencing this, so I'm guessing you have no need for using it.

Thanks for the clarification. I haven't experienced this so I was curious.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Has there been any update as to lower quality of HD downloads? As the only options that turn up for me are: RTMP, 1000k, 1900k.
Is both RTMP and 1900k the best of the options available?
What about the original 3500kbps? They surely can't have lowered the quality of all their videos! Even original ones are showing at 1900k now when they were previously of higher quality
