Jaksta Free Radio Recorder is a free and easy way to download your favorite local radio stations. Downloaded audio can be automatically sent to Free Media Converter for conversion to other formats. Free Radio Recorder supports downloading radio from stations in your local area as determined by your IP address.
How to download online radio program with Jaksta Free Radio Recorder- Select the Radio Tool (Radio icon) on the Free Media Recorder Toolbar in your browser.
- Free Radio Recorder will appear and automatically display radio stations based on the geolocation of your current IP address.
- Click any thumbnail to start downloading that stations stream.
- Mouse over any thumbnail to display the menu options available.
- Cancel/Remove: This icon will change if the download is in progress or not.
- View the progress log: The log file contains textual details of the download including any errors. It can also be opened by clicking the progress bar.
- Play: This will play the downloaded audio. Audio can be played whilst they are downloading. If you need an excellent alround media player try Jaksta Free Media Player
- Open the containing folder: Opens Windows Explorer to the folder containing the downloaded file and selects the file for you.
- Send to media converter: Sends the downloaded file to Free Media Converter.
- Download again: Starts the download again.
Free Radio Recorder Settings
Click Tools > Settings from the menu to open Settings.
- Storage folder: The folder in which downloads will be saved.
- Maximum Concurrent Downloads: The maximum number of downloads that can happen concurrently. Others will be queued.
- Max No of Segments/Min Segments Size: Single downloads are split into smaller segments and then reassembled to acheive faster download rates. These values are a best for almost everyone. Only change these if you are on an extremely slow or fast internet connection.
- Hide from Task Bar when Minimized: This option will remove Free Radio Recorder from the task bar when it's minimized. You can reopen Free Radio Recorder from the system tray in the lower right hand size of your PC screen.
- Enable Sound Effects: Plays a sound when a download is complete. It's more fun with this setting turned on.
- Gather Anonymous Usage Data: We like to know how people are using Free Radio Recorder so we can make it better.
- Duplicate Naming Rule: Occasionally, you will download to a file name that already exists on your PC. This option lets you choose how duplicate files are named.
- Location: The location used to find radio stations. This is based on the geolocation of your IP address. Results are cached. Clicking Update will force and update.
