The web link mentioned above has been removed 'coz it hardly contains any useful information besides the description of the
Napster music service:
1. 2,000,000 song catalog
2. FREE 7-day trial
3. Subscription allows to download unlimited number of music tracks for as long as you continue to subscribe for just $9.95/month, or $14.95/month for Napster To Go. Please note that when you subscribe you don't own music so you won't be able to use it after discontinueing your subscription. Thus you can download unlimited number of music tracks for a limited time.
Unlike many
Music services Napster supports many PlayForSure MP3 players. But you may
remove DRM protection from Windows Media .WMA files and listen to the Napster music on any device you have.
You may even subscribe and
remove DRM protection from .WMA files after downloading and use this files more than your subscription plan allows, however this seems to be beyond the FairUse scheme so hardly can be considered legal.
As for iTunes, you may also
Remove DRM protection from iTunes and listen to its music not only on your iPod but on any device you have like portable MP3 player, Sony PSP, cell phone, car audio, standalone DVD player with MP3 or AAC support,....
DRM removal software may stop working sometime in the future and nobody knows whether there will be any new update overcoming newer DRM protection scheme. However it seems to work fine for many users for long periods of time.
BUT I prefer to use DRM free music services like
MusicMP3 and
eMusic. Thus I'm not bound to the list of devices offered by major corporations. Although many people like the music subscription services like
Napster offers and I rescpect their opinion.
